Warm and welcoming apartment that’s full of character
The North Wing is a charming two-story apartment, offering access to select grounds of Alvie House and, during specific seasons, fishing opportunities on Loch Bourne. Fondly known as ‘the winter quarters’ by the owner’s family, it served as the primary residence during cold winter months in past generations.
This spacious apartment is well-appointed, providing comfort and warmth throughout your stay. Alvie House is heated using a woodchip boiler fuelled by wood sourced from the Estate.
We supply bed linen and kitchen tea towels for your convenience. We kindly ask guests to bring their own towels; alternatively, towels can be rented from us for a nominal fee of £5 per person if traveling light.
April 2024 – We have been coming here off and on for 30 years. There is a reason for that. The North Wing is very welcoming and a wonderful place to stay, we love walking, cycling, munro bagging etc and it is the perfect place for that. Lovely warm and welcoming house when you have been on the hills all day. Loads of hot water for as many baths as required etc. We will be back!!
October 2023 – Its a very stunning place and the staff is there on hand to give the best service we love it and will be returning next year 100% very clean and comfortable relaxing and we enjoyed our stay thankyou Alvie estate for keeping us happy.
June 2023 – We loved staying in North Wing for a week. The accommodation was perfect for 2 families (and our dogs) – very comfortable, clean and well equipped. It’s an old house with lots of character, felt like being in a well loved home rather than a bland modern holiday cottage. Spoilt for choice for outdoor activities locally, we could have many more holidays here and not run out of things to do ( a week of glorious weather helped). Heidi (housekeeper) was very helpful.
November 2022– We are Five friends from Greece & Cyprus who decided to visit Scotland and Highlands in November.
We never have thought when we pre-booked at the Alvie Estate how amazing this place would be. Definitely our expectations were over passed not only by the House itself and the location with the most beautiful scenery ever but also because of the amazing activities the place is offering. We had booked for the Horse riding, Clay shooting and the most fantastic Zip line ever!!!
The most enjoyable, adventurous days ever for all of us. Special thanks to all personnel which guided us with the activities and cared so much for our safety and to enjoy it to the highest point.
Certainly recommended not only for group friends and couples but also for families. We are most definitely planning for a revisit in the near future.
